12/11/05: Tony The Tiger's Winter Adventure!
Since I'm offering a video download and you'll catch on anyway, I guess I should admit that this Kellogg's Frosted Flakes commercial has absolutely nothing to do with Christmas. Considering that it features Tony the Tiger and his merry band of child worshippers wrestling playfully in a snowy field, it still felt right to include it.

To the best of my knowledge, there has never been a holiday edition Frosted Flakes cereal. Even though it would be insanely easy to just stick the word "snow" between the two words and call it a season, there has never been a holiday edition of Frosted Flakes. It's kind of odd when you look at which particular brands got the nod to become Christmassy. Cap'n Crunch, Lucky Charms and Rice Krispies were the predominant trio, and there's no common link shared between the three to make the phenomena easily understood. Maybe Tony and the Honey Nut Cheerios Bee are Jewish.

So, while Cap'n Crunch got to dress like Santa and shove Christmas Crunch down our stockings, all poor Tony had to work with was a snowstorm and a 200,000 dollar ad budget. The commercial doesn't make me want to watch Garfield sing the "Gimme" song, but it does make me want to build snowmen. On a stretch, it's all very Christmassy and applicable.
