1/14 : Video Burnout
I knew I wanted to try something different with the last article, since I pretty much have a blown fuse with the amount of tapes that just came in for reviewing...
1/13 : Show Me The Money... Please? Hello?
Ended up at Bally's in Atlantic City late Friday night, got back this afternoon. This will probably be the last time I go there for a long while...
1/9 : DVD's Fear Me
I buy movies, lots of them. Actually, this month I've purchased at least 50 of 'em. I own a DVD player, but I never buy DVDs. Just old videocassettes...
1/9 : Mad About Webstats
I've been using this place to do nothing but complain for the past few days. Let me continue that forage: Mad About You can be incredibly annoying if you leave on a channel that replays old episodes sixty times a day...
1/8 : Car Go Boom
Hey, guess what just happened? MY CAR EXPLODED. Okay, it didn't explode. But the muffler pretty much fell off...
1/7 : Internet Grandpa
I've noticed that the net's passed me by. Through talking to others, it seems to be a fairly normal feeling. A few years ago, I spent a lot of time on here. Admittedly, way too much time...
1/7 : Cancer can be Fun!
Cigarette prices in NY recently took a hike - some places will charge you over seven bucks a pack, which obviously, isn't something everyone can afford. Still, to a lot of people, wrong as it might be, cigarettes are no longer a luxury item...
1/5 : Can $1 save your life?
Wow, it's certainly been a while. The holiday month was incredibly busy - I thought I was safe when Christmas ended, but then New Year's popped up, and with it, the opportunity to trek upstate to one of our friend's houses for a few days...
12/26 : Ghoulies! Blah!
Well if that isn't the coolest thing I've ever seen. Ghoulies movie memorabilia? I couldn't believe such things existed, but there it is, right in front of me...

Advertising Information

Interested in purchasing ad space on X-E? First, read a little about the site's statistics.

On average, X-E reaches up to and over 20,000 people a day, racking up several million page views monthly. Traffic peaks often pull us close to a reach of 40,000 web surfers worldwide, sometimes garnering hundreds of thousands of page views daily.

X-Entertainment has been featured in many mediums since it's launch in April of 2000, including:

- Entertainment Weekly
- Maxim Magazine
- SFX Magazine
- The Ron & Fez Show
- Vice Magazine
- Wired Magazine
- USA Today
- The Web Review (UK Television)

We've recently upgraded our design to make it more user-friendly and effective for the sponsors who keep us afloat. Our 'cliental' personifies the 18-25 age demographic everyone loves and adores. Most of our readers are from the United States, but there's also considerable chunks from Canada, Australia, and pretty much every other nation that can afford computers. And even some who can't.

X-E doesn't believe in 'tricking' its sponsors. Ad buys aren't distributed across endless pages of picture galleries or other types of pages where they'd be totally ineffective. Especially under our new design, all ads are strategically placed to perform well. Users are urged to support the site by visiting the sponsors that interest them. One of our best attributes as far as sponsor ads go is our actual content. X-Entertainment isn't riddled by junk pages meant to cash in on extra ad impressions. Our articles are almost always kept to a one-page length, while many other sites will spread their content out over several pages to attain extra impressions. Rest assured that any ad purchases will result on pages our readers typically spend more than a few moments on.

Through our parent network, UGO, we're currently serving the following types of ads:

* 728x90 Large Banner. Roomy enough to get your message across legibly, these eye-catchers are typically placed directly above the content. Very rarely will a reader need to scroll down at all to see these ads, as they're almost exclusively above the fold.

* 300x250 Square 'Box' Ad. The latest and perhaps most highly sought ad type, square ads might be the most cost-effective size offered. If placement is a concern, look no further. These ads are usually placed within the actual content. Even web surfers who are particularly experienced in ignoring ads would have trouble missing this one, and it's placed in an unobtrusive, non-annoying way to boot.

* 120x600 Tower Ad. These tall 'skyscraper' ads run vertically alongside the content. Large in size, you'll be able to fit almost anything you could imagine into 'em. To ensure proper performance, we place these ads in such a way that they draw the eye's attention. Tower ads seem to have taken a back-seat to the previous two ad sizes in recent months, but my stats prove that they're one of the most effective campaigns available.

* V.I.P. Ad. VIP ads eliminate the need for a user to click to see what you're offering. These giant ads can utilize their own scroll bar within the content, and you're essentially buying ad space equivalent to that of an entire website page. Though sometimes pricier than other sizes, the VIPs must be considered the most effective campaign.

* Pop-Ups. X-E serves a healthy amount of pop-up ads every day, and we've grown to accept them as a necessity in keeping the site afloat. Obviously, there's little way for the reader base to avoid seeing these. They might not be too happy about that, but life goes on. I've found that pop-ups ads are at their most successful when not constructed to simply intrude on the user. It's suggested that you talk to UGO about proper sizing and schemes in order to get the biggest bang for your buck.

* Textlinks & Buttons. A more simple campaign for more simple people, and probably the best option for those trying to promote their site or sell a specific product. Buttons are usually 88x31 pixels, but we're not too particular about that. Textlinks can be placed on the main page and within the articles with a write-up by myself. Please e-mail me directly to discuss this kind of campaign.

Sorry, we're no longer accepting ad campaigns for the standard 468x60 banner. Don't be disappointed - they perform terribly and are usually a waste of money. I should know.

Aside from textlinks and buttons, all other ad sizes and campaigns are handled and served by UGO. You will have complete access to your statistics to see how they're performing. For all inquiries about ad buys on X-E, please contact our friend and three-headed lizard fish from UGO, Aric Austin. E-mail UGO about an X-E ad buy!
