A lot of people ask me my opinions on some of the other superheroes. The most frequent inquiry is about which superhero I liked teaming with the most. I'd have to say that it's probably The Thing. Only partner I've ever had who had more of a problem using public toilets than I did. Kinda made me feel superior. Plus, he was fun to break eggs on.

It's the attack of the electronic revolution on this page, as every toy displayed featured some sort of battery-powered gimmick that both broke ground and wallets in their heyday. The marquee players of course are Teddy Ruxpin and his pal, Grubby. Teddy was just popular beyond belief, as common in every household as a lost remote control or a crack in the bathroom tile. For the delights of having a bear who could read stories or sing Guns N' Roses cassettes with the same swift ease, you'd have to fork over 70 bucks. That's actually lower than the retail price when he first came out. In an effort to capitalize on Teddy's vast success, the talking dolls also came in the 'Snoopy' and 'Pamela' varieties. Girls who had tea parties by themselves finally had the chance to really converse with their guests.

Lazer Tag also makes an appearance, and the kid's smug pose oddly reflects the line's popularity at the time. Both Lazer Tag and its rival gun toy, Photon, were absolute must-haves for kids. Everyone else on the block had the sets, and you'd be left all alone while they went to play Future Gun Warriors in the woods if you didn't have one too. As an added bonus for your purchase, you'd get to wear a really ridiculous helmet that blinded you and made you look like a space pirate.
