A tiny, plastic MLB baseball cap -- just one of the many that were offered in various cereal boxes over the years. The plastic baseball caps were always the great fallback for cereal brands that didn't have anything good to give away. When there were no new toys, hot kid movies, or when the other cereal brands' premiums were just too tough to compete with, it was time to dust off the damn baseball caps again. Yet, in every commercial they appeared on, the caps were presented as a completely new entity. Something to go nuts for. I don't have any sales statistics, so I can't tell you if it worked. Guess it depended on whether you liked baseball. I could've saved myself a paragraph there.
