Chewbacca Birthday Cake Candle (Wilton, 1980)
Another from Wilton's fine line of ESB candles, Chewbacca looks almost too good to set on fire. If I'm a kid and it's my birthday and they just shoved a cake with that Chewbacca candle on top, there's no way I'm gonna waste time thinking up a wish. Somehow, I doubt very many of Wilton's Star Wars candles went back in the kitchen drawer after the big blowout. Kids were going to want to make these part of their personal collection. Lord knows, there was nothing my Millennium Falcon needed more than a storyline involving Chewbacca's latest impulse buy: an eight foot statue of his head.
