Gremlins also had an entry into the vast world of Colorforms. I assume most of you know what those are, but for the ten of you who weren't privileged: you got a shiny backdrop scene made of cardboard and a sheet of plastic character 'figures' that you could stick and re-stick to the backdrop. They really weren't all that fun but every kid went through sixteen hundred sets of these things. I think it had something to do with the box. Colorforms were cheaper than most action figures, but they came in a big box, so kids figured they were a better pick. Then, after they got home, they cut Gremlins pictures out of magazines and burned them as a sort of effigy as recognition of their poor decision.
