Whan ever me and my mom when to the video store, I would get a game, and then look at the covers of the horror movies. For some reason that would creep her out. O.o

The unfinished advent calendar has to be the most disappointing travesty in the sordid history of the web. I'm reminded of a line from a song... "So this is Christmas.. and what have you done?"

this is a re-post since I am not sure if you saw my old one or not.
Hey Matt, wanted to give you a heads up. The guy, KuRt d00d, in your last b-log posting about his website is leaching from you. I looked at his site and saw that he was stealing your bandwidth via your photos from your Gary Coleman article. Bring the smack down on him!

When I was a kid I always had those ghoulies things trying to climb up my butt while I was on the terlet. It was a real pain in the ass.

A friend of my mother had the Ghoulies 2 poster, which she kept in her closet because it was too scary for her to look at. She still wouldn't give it to me though.

That was supposed to say "the daughter of a friend of my mother."
I type well.

Matt,
Youo are probably the greatest satirical mind since Matt Groening. You stand shoulder to shoulder with the greats: Samuel Clemens, Voltaire, Steve Martin and Sam Rami. I bless the day that I stumbled on to X-entertainment.
Thank you.

You know what the scariest movie cover art I remember seeing as a kid? Chopping Mall. For some reason, a metal hand holding a shopping bag filled with eyeballs and body parts creeped the fuck out of me. I wonder if it left a lasting impression....(see previous post)

Nintendo game was the best, hands down. Damn those bats. Or was that Gremlins...

What's up with the Christmas Countdown? I need to see how it ends...please, I beg you.

Great Joe article (over here in england it was called action force. The cartoon edited out all "joe" references, replacing them with an unconvincing dub over saying "action force").
Something about the article disturbed me though.

Is it me, or has someone ripped out cobra commanders crotch, revealing him to be genderless? It's one thing to turn a guy into a snake, but going on to reveal that he (it?) is neither male nor female is going one step too far!
Shame on you nemesis enforcer.
Chestnuts roasted by vyle @ 12/29/2002 11:10 AM EST
This quote from the latest GI Joe artcle got my attention: "Obviously, this was a far cry from the cartoon's days of good ol' regular bomb threats, espionage, and scientist kidnappings." And cloned dinosaurs. And secret islands with living clay clones. And hanging out with Egyptian gods. And fighting giant antibodies with apple orchards. And stealing the DNA of dead world conquering scumbags to build a new emperor, but having to swipe some from Sgt. Slaughter to make up for lost matter. Oh, yeah, something like Cobra-La really had no place in GI Joe. Plus they used Hector Ramerez, the least likable character from Inhumanoids. He even sneaked his way into an episode of Transformers once. I'd like to imagine Starscream and D Compose fighting over who got the write to waste the Geraldo Rivera wannabe! Then have Nemesis Enforcer fly in and do the job himself.
Still, the movie gives us Nemesis Enforcer (who should be high on the list of evil bad@$$es), Burgess Meredith (who pulls off a stellar job and makes Golobulus worth watching), and Don Johnson doing a far better job than I'd have thought on a character that I otherwise couldn't stand. Really, who needs Lt. Falcon, anyway? No surprize he ended up being the druggie in the "Head Man" anti-drug story from that sad, sad DIC series. (Operation Dragonfire was the only decent story DIC ever gave GI Joe.) What a putz!

Not wanting to appear illiterate, I just noticed I spelled "right" as "write". But since I was talking about Mr. "20 Questions", it's not worth thinking about. :)
Chestnuts roasted by ShadowWing: the technorganic Autobot @ 12/29/2002 09:56 PM EST
You know, I wasn't a huge fan of the GI Joe movie, other than the really kickass opening sequence with the trouble bubbles and the statue of liberty and the Cobra theme song.
The DVD is pretty cool though, as it has all the PSAs from the TV series as bonus footage.
I liked the comic origin of CC better. But Cobra Commander is an icon to me. He's my favorite bad guy, maybe next to Bobby "The Brain" Heenan. It might be a tie...Heenan never had Cold Slither, but Cobra never had Andre the Giant. Its a tossup.

Please finish the advent calendar or else my Starscream action figure gets thrown in the trash compactor!

I say we boycott X-E until Matt finishes the advent calendar. Who's with me??
Chestnuts roasted by Baum @ 12/30/2002 06:50 PM EST
Okay, so I've been reading through the archives and I saw a post talking about an X-E get-together or something like that that took place in Ohio(?) last year(?, again). What a cool fucking idea. I was wondering, would anybody be willing to travel somewhere in this country to do that again? Also, I almost hope that the Advent Calendar never gets finished. I've been scared enough by what's already come out of it. I can't even fathom what's left.
Chestnuts roasted by Jeremy @ 12/30/2002 07:28 PM EST
if you boycotted X-E until the advent calendar was done, how would you know when it was finished, eh smartguy?
Chestnuts roasted by Casey Jones @ 12/31/2002 09:56 AM EST
Erm, but when will the ARCHIVE page be back up?
Chestnuts roasted by vyle @ 12/31/2002 05:37 PM EST
Matt,
Please put the related comment section link at the bottom of each new article, for those who would like to say something about what they just read.

FINISH THE GOD DAMNED CHRISTMAS CALENDAR. IF YOU DON'T, I'M GOING TO COME TO YOUR HOUSE, TEAR THE SKIN OFF YOUR FACE, WEAR IT AS A MASK, AND FINISH THE FUCKING CALENDAR MYSELF.
Chestnuts roasted by EricCorp @ 01/01/2003 02:59 PM EST
Those space helmets in Creature look like the ones used in 2001. Cheesey bastards would rip off a classic to fuel thier tripe!
I remember seeing Klaus Kinski in Android, a movie about am android that needs to get laid. Almost the same level of crapiness as Creature, based on the review.
Chestnuts roasted by Joe @ 01/02/2003 07:23 AM EST
Funny, I was gonna ask about the archive page as well. ^^;;
Um, when is it coming back anyways? And sorry for not knowing much about GI Joe. It wasn't that popular in Mexico at least.

The advent calander situation is dire... many online conversations have taken a turn for the worst:
CenterOfTheW0rld: X-E makes me sad.
unequivocally so: me too. I'm going to kill myself!
Something must be done!
Chestnuts roasted by Kate @ 01/04/2003 07:31 PM EST
peeeeeople! i know we all want the advent calendar to be finished but i'm sure matt has a good excuse for not doing so... maybe b/c people keep whining about it? we should be thankful for all of the entertainment he's provided us with so far, right? keep up the good work matt :D
Chestnuts roasted by Ashley @ 01/05/2003 01:41 AM EST
You've got a point there, Ashley. However, I personally think that he's not updating it because he's getting off on people's misery for NOT finishing it. Either way, I can just see Matt sitting in his living room, whacking off to Pokemon(I know I have, Jessie's hot as hell), and laughing at the fact that people are absolutely LIVID because he hasn't finished the Advent Calendar. Really, I hope he never finishes it.
Chestnuts roasted by Jeremy @ 01/05/2003 02:55 AM EST
This BLOWS! Matt, you blow! You have singlehandedly killed Christmas for me...FOREVER! I hate you!
Sorry, I was not myself, just, please, if it's the last thing you do, ever, finish the damn calendar...thanks for your support.
Chestnuts roasted by robb @ 01/05/2003 09:42 AM EST
Calendar, schmalendar. I just need new X-E of some kind. It's been like a week, and I need my fix. I'm actually reading the shitty articles at something awful, fer chrissakes!
