10/06/2003 Entry: "X-E's Halloween Musiccc Contest!"

Here's something different -- wanna win a boxed set of five Soul Calibur II figures, courtesy of Action-HQ? Then head over to our Halloween Contest. A friend of mine put together a mix that blends in a little over 30 different quotes from movies, shows and whatnot -- name at least 29 of 'em, send in your answers, and voila, you're entered into the drawing. A lot of work just to get in a raffle, huh? All in good fun. See how many you can identify! Big thanks to Tummi for making the moozic! Also -- the Countdown's been updated with a Choose Your Own Adventure story, plus two quick examinations of Dannon's spooky yogurt and Utz' greatest claim to fame, a sack full of "Halloween Pretzels."

I have to say, that Choose-Your-Own-Adventure made as much sense as any I'd read. But with more graphic dying. Thanks, Matt.

And for the first time ever, I now want pretxels. Even though I hate them and probably won't be able to get coll Utz ones in Canada.

The only way I can abide pretzels is with Grey Poupon. I know--I should totally put a gun in my mouth. That yogurt looked yummy, though.

Enjoying the Halloween countdown, too, Matt. Great fucking mix too. I think that I recognized way more clips than I should have, but not as many as some will. Yay! I'm mediocre!

As for yogurt -- anything that involves stickers I'm all for.

I would be worried about any show that tries to be like BtVS (especially a werewolf show, since there wasd one on BtVS). It was the creator and writer, Joss Whedon, that made that show great (and the casting, of course). A cheesy rip off by the brilliant minds at UPN (home of great shows like...) could only be disaster.

And they'll probably get Jason Bates to star in it. I hear he'll work for food.

The green yogurt reminded me more of bloody snot that anything else. Not the best thing to think about whilst eating gummy bears. Blargh.

Pretzels aren't really my thing, but I msut admit that those pumpkin-shaped ones are quite charming.

I'm expecting some gargantuan climactic article on Al Hallow's Eve this year. You've been building this thing up for a month, seems likely that you'll give us some giant article on Halloween Night for all us bored people. That would be nifty.

What defines a quote? Could we have a list of the words to each quote or something? Oh, and through my extremely limited knowledge of horror films, I have managed to still turn up 9 results. Some of them are just educated guesses, but others are concrete (The Worst Witch, DURR). Damn, that's two I've revealed now. I suck at keeping my own damn conclusions to myself.

Hanover must be the chip/pretzel capitol of the world. We have a brand in Ohio (dunno how wide spread they are) called Schneiders of Hanover. We also have plain old Snyders, so I may be confused as to which is from Hanover, but anyway neither one makes pumpkin pretzels and that makes me jealous.
