Man, it always seems to work out this way -- the best updates to the Advent Calendar come either late or on weekends when fewer are around. Nonetheless, for those who remain, the Advent Calendar is now up to date, and it's shaping up to be quite an epic. Wait till you see what's happened to Waiterbot. The Advert Calendar is up to snuff, too.

Really great stuff Matt! and I just wanted to say from your last blog that i would have to agree with (nicole was it?). The one thing i look forward to every year at xmas is your advent calendar. and then to be doubley lucky this year to have the xmas jukebox just makes the holiday season even brighter.

Ooooh. So that's why there's so many Mare Winninghams. And the Santa from the first Playmobile advent calendar simply didn't want to come out. But that still doesn't explain the lack of presence for the other unrevealed toys from the first Playmobile calendar. Hmm. Maybe that'll be explained in the next advent calendar entry, which I am about to read in 3...2...1...

WHat an evil bitch that "Claire" Winningham is!!! She oughta be fucked up the...oh wait a minute, she'd enjoy something like that, and she doesn't deserve such happiness. Nope, she won't get her honey and nuts like Waiterbot did. I get this sneaking suspicion that waiterbot is going to end up usurping "Claire." Either that, or it'll be a final showdown between the Mares: Mare vs. Claire. Die! Beotch! Die!

Kuse is cuddling with Mare? He has his non-existing face in her lap?
Chestnuts roasted by Law Girl @ 12/11/2004 09:30 PM EST
Law Girl-I also predict that Kuse and Mare are gonna get it on!

Maybe getting laid will magically put a smile on his face!

Oh, and did I mention that I Santa Claus will most likely have some sort of involvement in the conclusion to this plot?
I'm not sure how, but like in all Christmas specials, Santa always has some sort of involvement. An why is this? Well...er...um...because it's a Christmas special, that's why. Now shut up and your candy canes!

I forgot to include the word "eat."

Wow, Joe Schmo - a show I couldn't pull myself away from. That was my whole summer - watching Joe Schmo and something about work in the background.

Great update for the 12th Matt! The ending is excellently done; it reads like a movie
I eagerly await the next update.
I miss Mista Snowman.

Classic stuff, Matt, especially the use of "And So This Is Christmas" on the 12th. I'm also looking forward to a holiday season of Mare vs Claire and to see how Waiterbot reacts to his new situation, not to mention more of the antics of Kuse and Knucks.
Special kudos to the "bomb" that looks suspiciously like a battery. You've gotta love being able to make your own "Christmas special."

OH MY GAWD!!!!!!!!! WHAT A FUCKING BITCH SHE IS!!!!! SHE'S GONNA KILL SANTA!!! SHE'S GONNA RUIN CHRISTMAS FOREVER!!!!!!!!! THAT BITCH!!!!
Okay, I think there's a certain hilarious pic on the net that depicts what if things work out according to Mare's plans. Let me see if I can find it.
Oh yeah, and what's with this black cat statue (this isn't Halloween) and that set of books. Is Playmobile running out of ideas? It sure looks like it, because this advent calendar starting to become more and more like the first one. Rabbits, anyone?
Chestnuts roasted by Nate @ 12/11/2004 11:53 PM EST
OK. Here's the pic I was talking about.

Another interesting event going on with the advent calendar, but have you guys heard lately about how "Santa" beat up a lady in the news.

Ah, evil Mare has returned. Or at least evil Clair has arrived. Evil! That's what christmas is all about.

Hey Matt, was that joke about Santa not coming our of his box a reference to that question I asked you about the original Advent Caldendar? ^_~
And only you can make a Mare Winningham Clone make a bomb out of a Duracell battery with an Utrom with another Mare body.

I just saw something really weird on IFC. On Christmas day they're showing "Nightmare on Elm Street" and "New Nightmare." To promote it they had a graphic with Freddy surrounded by snow wearing a Santa hat. Weirdest marathon I've ever seen.

I know a stolen plot Device when I see one! Claire is Unicron, Einstein is Galvatron!
oh how clever you are Matt.
Will Mare wind up killing Clair using some 00ber powerful device while a Stan Bush song plays?

Wow- I go away for the weekend, and return to find amazing advent updates! Mare and CLAIRE? Loving it! Also, excellent usage of "Happy Xmas (War is Over)"- that's my favorite Xmas song, (and one I am trying frantically to learn on guitar before the 25th!)
This year's calendar IS an epic- good vs. evil, and so many cliffhangers and unanswered questions. Will our Mare, #38, STAY good and help the guys rescue Waiterbot (the Krang wannabe) from Claire's evil clutches? Will her deadly Duracell BLOW UP Christmas?? I cannot wait to find out.
Matt, I love your imagination!
Chestnuts roasted by Muppet Baby @ 12/12/2004 07:50 AM EST
The closing shots to the bomb at the end, w/ John Lennon playing in the background, was perfect. I expected to see Ben Seaver's surprised and worried face in the last frame, along w/ the unanswered questions (written in ballondextbol font, of course) of tonight's episode, right before the to be continued (elipse)... Nice build of tension.

Is it me or does the Angel Soft commercial have a voice over from Winnie the Pooh?
Chestnuts roasted by Gerv @ 12/12/2004 09:45 AM EST
Genius Matt......just simply Genius...blowing up Santa?
That is how you write perfect plotline!
Academy Awards better recognize!!!
....one minor complaint though....if Duracell doesnt work in my Digital camera how will it work a bomb? Well at least it isnt Everready!
Chestnuts roasted by ralph @ 12/12/2004 11:24 AM EST
Gerv, you are correct sir. That would be Sterling Holloway.
Matt, after reading the e-mail from Nicole this morning, I consciously thought to myself as I read the entries for this weekend, "Damn, that must have taken him a long time to put together..." I mean, you've gotta set up all the characters into positions you like (and that's not easy when your body is composed of three total hinge joints), then you've gotta bring storm troopers and various household items into the story (because, let's face it--Playmobil sucks on the Adventy items this year), and then you have to take about a million photos, and then you have to photoshop or paint up the shots, and THEN you have to make it interesting on top of all that!
I appreciate what you're doing, and it's really helped me over my finals, to be able to come over and see what's going on at XE. Keep it up--you never know who you're making laugh until they cry.
Chestnuts roasted by Emily @ 12/12/2004 11:29 AM EST
Matt, it doesnt matter if the updates are late with a plotline like that! Gotta say, really likin Claire(evil chicks are teh hot).
Seriously, keep up the awesome work with the site, you really have no idea how much it means to all of us. For most, its the first thing we do when we get to work, just to make sure the day starts off right.
Kuse is a slut! HA!

Nicole just single-handedly explained how deep my love is for X-E. Even though I don't think I could ever hate Christmas, as much as I've always loved it.. I can see how you could lose yourself in it all and this is the type of place you can come to if you want to get it back. I can't visit this site without leaving with happy thoughts for the things I just witnessed. For me, it's all about the memories. X-Entertainment reminds me of the way I want Christmas to remain forever: simple and heartfelt. Except for Evil Mare.
Thanks for keeping things alive for us throughout the years, Matt. Like you said.. even when you do decide that it's run is over, you've nailed it as good as it could ever be nailed. Congrats.
Chestnuts roasted by Matt(#2?) @ 12/12/2004 12:58 PM EST
Oh, and I do know the difference between "its" and "it's". Honest. That was a typo.
Now somebody put a stop to her evil ways before she ruins Christmas! We need to tie her to a chair and make her watch reruns of The Grinch.
Chestnuts roasted by Matt(#2?) @ 12/12/2004 01:02 PM EST
I HATE those shitting cartoon bears, especially when the little girl bear tries to take, like, 8 squares, and then the big fat bear's all "Uh-uh, alls you need is this many!" I think 'number of squares' is a personal decision and I don't need Charmin or bears or anybody else trying to tell me how to live my life. USA out of my WC!

Oooh Advent calendar is getting suspenseful!
I have to agree with the sentiment in the email you posted yesterday on the blog. I don't think it can be said often enough-we truly do appreciate the time and effort you put into this site. I was upset about being away from home this Halloween, but I pretty much forgot about that with the countdown. Same goes for the Christmas stuff, and also just the regular articles-always brightens things up. So cut yourself some slack, we love it even if you're late. I'm very impressed by you.
Chestnuts roasted by Mara @ 12/12/2004 04:15 PM EST
I don't know about the "f#*! Christ" part of the Nicloe email.
Other than that, I agree with the sentiment of the email that XE does give Christmas a much needed boost in the spirit department.
Matt, there is still some commericals/material on that tape I sent you last year that has yet to make it on XE. Will it make it on the site this year???
Finally, congrats to Erik on the baby. Mine is due in January. Oh yes, the Manimal breeds....

I'm currently working on my final paper for my English class, but I'd like to stop and say that I am very excited about where this advent calendar is heading. It's a Mice Surprise.
Seriously, though, thank you so much, Matt, for putting all this work into things like this. Life would be a lot less interesting without it.
I like the advent- and advertness of it all, but I do kind of miss the reviews of holiday stuff from last year. They caused me to go out and buy several things featured then- red and green goldfish, disney cookies, evergreen garland shampoo. (Which I'm still showering with, by the way... I'm going to try to stretch that out for as long as possible. This is why I'm glad to have mini-reviews on the blog.
So, to wrap up, advent's been great, I can't wait to see what's coming up next (those crazy Mares!), and thanks, Matt, for kicking major butt.
Chestnuts roasted by Rainbowfeet @ 12/13/2004 12:27 AM EST
Yeah, time was a factor in eradicating the review portion of the Calendar for this year, but to be honest, there just isn't that much new stuff out. Certainly not a good 25 days worth -- too much of it would be a stretch. I'd rather take the added stress off and make those bloggy bonuses -- and there will be plenty of those over the next two weeks.
Chestnuts roasted by Matt @ 12/13/2004 09:52 AM EST
I have Turkish Star Wars....and its no gift for a human being.....quit possibly the worst thing i have ever seen. I have a turkish friend who i gave a copy of the tape to...and he hated me....
