In what's by far the strangest event since the resurgence of the Ninja Toitles began, giant-sized action figures are being packaged with Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles III DVDs in neat windows boxes, sold at the radical discount rate of 13.99. There really aren't any good explanations for this, and every time I look at it, fifty more questions pop in my head and make my head go all ninja hurtles. The film came out in 1993; TMNT's current crop of fans (we do not count) can't possibly share its age demo. Even so, TMNT III is nothing for anyone with a vested interest in the current franchise to be proud of, and I can't imagine any bigwigs at Playmates sitting around giant oak tables shaped like miniature golf courses saying, "A good way to make today's kids love today's Turtles is by showing them the single most critically shat-upon aspect of yesterday's Turtles." Only they wouldn't say it like that. They'd say it more dumberly.
Being one of the fortunate losers who can say that they enjoy both Old Turtles and New Turtles, this mashing of eras serves me big plates of delight that figuratively taste like awesome Cool Whip. I've always tried to keep my nerd level in check when it comes to not opening things that would look better opened because they'll be worth trillions of bling clams someday, but no, you absolutely CANNOT open this set, because the sum is worth a hundred times more than its parts. The figure is cool, but there's a million of them, and the DVD is kind of cool, but you can buy it from any gas station with a TigerMart for 2.99. Only together are their strengths fully realized. Only together can they be worth writing about at 11:30 on a Tuesday night.
Some attempt was made to make sense of the madness. It's the "Movie Action Set," including a "Mutant Movie Star" -- a "Box Office Brawler." I am so close to meaning it when I say I'm cracking up right now. And now that I've noticed the movie popcorn graphics all over the box, I really do mean it. This one's for the books. The tubular books.

Cool, but that movie is HORRID! Reminds me of when they had episodes of He-Man packaged with the figures a couple of years ago.

Wow, who knew Raphael was so intensely into his craft as an actor? This whole new TMNT movie just looks like ... a mistake, you know?

This set would be golden if it was either one of the first two...sigh.
"They Live" with Rowdy Roddy Piper is on Sci-Fi right now! Oh joy!

Hey, there are worse things. It could have come packed with a DVD of eight Next Mutation episodes.
Think about THAT!

Maybe there was some sort of legal problem with using one of the first two TMNT movies. Was III produced by a different studio than the first two or something? Anyway, all I have to say about this is "pizza time!"

I can't believe that I had no idea that They Live was a John Carpenter work! Carpenter and the Rowdy One... there is something so right about that.

Lemme just say this about the update: IT'S ABOUT FREAKIN TIME!!!
I held off my New Blog Topic for so long, and cracking earlier tonight, and I was right about the update being 3 hours after I post it.
Well, MY topic was actually NOT Recurring SNL Sketches, but rather, for ones that ran one-time. Allison basically took up the whole topic on that.
My favorite one-time sketches:
-Jimgleheimer Junction (each censor card depicting a train wreck getting progressively worse)
-the Crystal Gravy ad (the MOST Disturbing ad EVER)
-Moleculo: THE MOLECULAR MAAAAN!
-The Sinatra Group
-James Brown In The Hot Tub
-Canteen Boy Goes Camping (Canteen Boy makes an appearance in a later episode with Jason Alexander hosting)
-the showdown of Partridge Family & the Brady Bunch
-Behind The Music: Fat Albert (Tracy Morgan as Fat Albert and Tim Meadows as Mushmouth)
-Behind The Music: Blue Oyster Cult (the famous Cowbell Sketch)
-the Drunken Asses (the ad where a bunch of drunk singers sing your favorite bar songs, and because they're all tanked, none of them are able to sing the complete song)
-the 1st Debate of Al Gore & George W (strategery)
-Hi-C and Turkey (a sketch about an insurance broker played by Danny Aiello not leaving a house because he wanted Hi-C & Turkey)
-Colonel Angus
-the LI Girls ad as well, because it relates to me SO much, being from LI and all. And yes, they do talk like that.
-The Chippendales Audition with Chris Farley & Patrick Swayze
-Wake Up & Smile (where a talk show celebrates its 20th anniversary show when the teleprompter breaks. Everyone in that sketch is Just. Freaking. Brilliant.)
Possibly my favorite Dana Carvey sketch can be summed up in 3 words: Massive Headwound Harry.
and one of my all-time favorites: the sketch where all of the Recurring SNL Characters in the early 90s (save for Tim Meadows) did a We Are The World-esque song about "Fire Bad!" (it was titled by Phil Hartman's Frankenstein). It had just about every major reocurring character: Cajun Man, the Superfans, Pat, David Spade in Hollywood Minute mode, Frankenstein, Wayne Cambell, Matt Foley, Queen Shaniqua, Nat X, Richmeister, Hanz & Franz and the rest of the casts' characters except for Tim Meadows, who didn't have one at the time
Forgot some more favorite recurring characters:
-Matt Foley, motivational speaker
-Astronaut Jones, if not for his X-E-like cheesey theme song
-Master Thespian
-The Herlihy boy
-Nat X
-The Ladies Man
-Debbie Downer (the ones this season were actually funny)
-Church Lady
-Dog Show (Mr. Bjangles is really a girl! Mr. Bojangles is really a girl!)
Let's go for 600 this time!!

Chestnuts roasted by dohopoki @ 02/01/2006 01:09 AM EST
Yeah, why saddle the coolest turtle with the worst of the films? TMNT 1 actually fits in with the newer series, (as both more closely fit in with the comics) whereas 2&3 are totally old TMNT cartoon territory. Mind you, I love the old cartoon as much as the next guy, but its brand of...whatever...doesn't translate well to the big screen.
'Course, I haven't seen much of the new TMNT since the beginning. Just got out of the habit, I guess. I'll catch them later on DVD.

I saw some TMNT gum at Target the other day. There were tiny cartoons printed on each piece of gum. Pretty cool, but I prefer the classic TMNT trading cards that came with the generic stick of rock hard gum. Also, they had Jones Soda Love Potion #6 (yes, I'm pretty sure it was #6 and not #9). I was tempted to get it because it came in a two pack with lip gloss for $10. Anyone try this stuff??? And finally, the dollar tree had Banana Moon Pies. I don't know whether that's an "mmmm" or an "ewwww."
Chestnuts roasted by flygrl358 @ 02/01/2006 02:05 AM EST
For some reason, you put TMNT III together with an action figure, and TMNT III just somehow becomes a million times more irresistable than it should be. It looks like a great set, but boy I remember TMNT III just totally sucked (I was great, and II was still pretty cool.)
Speaking of TMNT II, did they release "Cool as Ice" on DVD yet?

Chestnuts roasted by Eddie Lightning Frog @ 02/01/2006 09:40 AM EST
Do you think it has to do with the current kid crop's parents and III being the most kid friendly? II went goofy because parents complained about what we knew and know was cool action, and I am guessing III was even more acceptable due to the same reason.
Chestnuts roasted by Bill-Up @ 02/01/2006 10:04 AM EST
That's just so, so inherently wrong. I agree that III was terrible, but I actually don't hate it. In fact, I'd probably buy this. And I don't have a nostalgia website to fall back on as an excuse for the purchase.

Sorry it's been a while; I moved into my new home in Oaklyn, 5 minutes from Philadelphia on the New Jersey side, on Sunday, and have spent the last three days trying to figure out what goes where in an apartment with a living room that's the size of my old apartment and a back storage room the size of my mom and stepdad's house. Seriously, though, I'm very happy here. I have a gorgeous view of a river and park, the elderly landlady is very sweet, there's two pizzarias and a Chinese take-out four blocks away, and my biological father (and his pool) lives down the stret.
I seem to be in the minority, but I actually kinda LIKED "Turtles III." Not the best of the trio, but fun in it's own way. I'd love to pick up that toy, especially since Raphael is my favorite Turtle. That was an awesome find.

I can imagine this scene taking place in some suburban front yard this summer...
(Kids are in the middle of playing TMNT)
"You're going down. You know why? Because I'm a method actor!"
"Well...I'm a method actor too!"
"We can't both be method actors."
"Why do you get to be the method actor?"
"'Cause it's my house and I said it first."
"That's not fair! When do I get to be the method actor?"
And somewhere, James Lipton sheds a tear because his boyhood fantasy has just come true.

I got in so much trouble when I saw that movie in the theater. I was wearing my brand-new bright red 321 Contact hat, and to mark the world-shattering occasion of a new Turtles movie I brought my personal savings out of all my ingenius hiding places and managed to purchase an Outrageously Enormous Albino Jawbreaker (TM) from the concession stand. Anyway, over the course of the movie my hands got absolutely coated in white jawbreaker stuff, and somehow I ended up wiping it all over my hat. So when my cousin and I rejoined my parents in the cruelly lit foyer, not only did I discover that I had ruined my brand new bright red 321 Contact hat, but I got yelled at for ruining my brand new bright red 321 Contact hat, and my parents made me throw away my jawbreaker, and I had only managed to lick through about twelve of the 8,347 delicious layers, and that on a patch about the size of a quarter on one side. Also, the jawbreaker really made my tongue hurt. Also, the movie sucked horribly.
Wow, there is no part of that story that does not make me sound like a loser. Well, time to go to Weinerschnitzel. Cheers.

KFC Chillers (lettuce in a bag)
1) I can't believe someone else remembers that.
2)I believe it was KCF or some other variation that had the Chillers (you know, as a parody). Ice Cold Iceberg Lettuce + Mayonnaise = Crazy Delicious? You shook it all up in a bag for some rich, tasty fun! Now with kid's meal with mini-chiller with How Stella Got Her Groove Back toys free!
I also liked the Sub Shack ad, where Jared (and a few others) become fat again because of the high-fat meat sandwiches Sub Shack sold.
Back on a new SNL-esque topic, which sketches do you think had the best theme songs? My picks:
-Toonces (He drives around/ all over the town/It's Toonces the Driving Cat!)
-Debbie Downer (They never did catch that Anthrax guy...)
-Pat (It's time for androdgeny/It's Just Pat!)
-Astronaut Jones (mentioned earlier, I just love it for some reason, probably because of all the intentioal cheesiness of it)

i love the astronaut jones song. i think part of it is the look on his face while he's singing, and the way he holds the guitar. thanx for putting it in my head!
walmart had a bunch of the old "best of" snls for like $4 each. i got phil hartman (his special is actually not that funny, even though i think he rocks), mike myers (excellent), and tracy morgan (lots of good stuff). you had to dig through one of those huge cheapie bins to find them, so there might've been more.
i've never watched tmnt in my life. in any form. am i gonna get kicked off of here?

I think I watched TMNT 3 when I was sick when it came out on tape with my little brother. I do remember it sucking and lacking Vanilla Ice. However, I agree that this must be a genious way to unload the stale copies of TMNT 3, just think about it, I certainly can't see buying it without the cool set up. And the only other point I would make for buying it alone is to complete the trilogy, but it just sucks too much.

For those that mentioned Astronaut Jones, you are all my American Idols. I loved those skits because his demeanor during the entire theme song was too funny and the first time I saw it, the ending was completely unexpected.

It's a shame really...I mean, most of us were just too old for TMNT III when it came out--I was 10 by the summer of '93 (I turned 11 that October), so it was the movie that shot right past us faster than the bullet train (how's that for reference?).
Talk about dying trends, and the quick turnaround they choose to make as a new millenium approached and a whole new crop of six-year olds popped up. Honestly, how long was TMNT out of commission before it was revived? 6-10 years maybe? Amazing.
I know, I'm on a little earlier today. I have a day off from work today (Saturday is work day for me, so I have off on Wednesdays and Saturdays). Beauty part of being part of store management is that I can make my schedule, but I'm starting off w/less than 40 hours, but probably by my 3rd week I'll bump it up to 45 (by tacking on an additional half hour to each of my week day shifts). Can you believe I managed to take a day off two days into my job? LOL. They didn't say no, so I guess its ok.
I'm actually required to work more than 40 hours (I think somewhere between 44 and 48 hours--45 is safe). Ah, the perks of having a job in retail w/o having to actually stand at a register all day. Thank the lord.

Toonces was a GREAT theme song, and I will admit that while that was one of the weirdest concepts for a sketch, it was actually really funny. I have the first Toonces sketch on a video, with Steve Martin and Victoria Jackson as his owners. Toonces changed hands alot in his short little run, and I think Dana Carvey took over as his owner at one point (w/Victoria Jackson still playing the wife). I don't know how well Toonces would go over now.
Starwenn, congrats on the new digs! Sounds really nice from your description, and in my opinion, I don't think you have enough room--kidding!
I participated in a survey on IMDb's boards about who readers' all-time fave cast members were, and I said, hands down, that my all time fave is Dana Carvey. He's had a soft spot in my heart since I was 9.
Does anyone remember this one commercial parody? It's from the mid-late 90s (sometime between '95 and '99). It was a White Diamonds ad, and Elizabeth Taylor (I know she was played by Molly Shannon) was in it, but she was completely blurred over, so all you saw was a black silouette of a woman with big hair coming at you. I don't think it aired more than once. It was REALLY funny.
I guess I get a kick out of it b/c of those damn White Diamonds commercials from 10-20 years ago, with Elizabeth Taylor saying "These have always bought me luck." Did someone forget to inform Liz that HER DAMN COMMERCIAL IS FRIGGIN' DATED?! Honestly, Miss Taylor, we know what you REALLY look like now, believe me, we saw that infamous photo of you in Liza Minelli's wedding!
Chestnuts roasted by Allison @ 02/01/2006 04:37 PM EST
Ok, I found some info on the White Diamonds parody--it aired in December 1993 and never again, so no wonder I haven't seen it outside of the ep it aired on--Sally Field played Liz Taylor. I haven't seen the rerun of this ep since an SNL Merry-thon in 12/1998 on Comedy Central, and it wasn't the greatest ep.
So, I answered my own question. Does anyone remember this sketch though?

Chestnuts roasted by Fox @ 02/01/2006 09:14 PM EST
Okay, here are some details:
"Tartakovsky said that unlike in the pricey original film, for which otherworldly sets were built, the puppets this time around will operate amid a CGI backdrop.
"There is a limited budget here, and this will be more artsy, in a 'Sin City' fashion, with characters performing over greenscreen and great backgrounds behind it," he said."
Sounds pretty awesome to me. There's a plot summary too...I don't want to spoil anything so I'll just say it sounds like it won't be vital to be familiar with the original to enjoy it.

I wonder what Venus is doing now? Probably pole dancing at some furry strip joint.
Do anthropomorphic turtles count as furries?
Dear god, I'm not the only one who remembers the "5th" turtle, Venus de Milo. She killed off Shredder in the first episode of The Next Mutation, so I give her some credit for that.
And I KNEW it was "Shredder" and not "Chiller" for KCF. Forgive me for that, for it was late and not thinking clearly.

Casey Jones is the grandfather of god.
Casey Jones is not related to Stacey Jones. For Stacey Jones is the name of his deadliest fighting move; a swift hockey-stick strike across the neck disintegrating his oppenent's body, leaving only the head with a fresh haircut.

Oh, Muppet, you poor thing. You didn't know? Yes, it is cancelled from Fox, and the final three eps probably won't even see daylight until the DVD. However the show is being shopped to other networks and the word is pretty strong the it might move to Showtime to be paired with Weeds. I personally don't subscribe to Showtime, but with Sopranos ending and all my HBO favs cancelled I'd seriously consider the switch if it came down to it...just kidding HBO, but you better bring back Rome!

squee4242- Genndy Tartakovsky is awesomeness in a can. I love all of his cartoons and I hope his Dark Crystal sequel is awesome which, from your description, looks like it will be.
Alright, story time. My first two posts were about the Foot Soldier. When I was a young’un, maybe 3 or 4, I adored the Foot Soldiers. I adored them so much that I had two of the purple and grey ninjas. Having more than one of a certain figure on purpose was an abnormality for me at that young age but I just loved those guys so much. Currently I’m an army builder, meaning that I buy multiples of figures such as Cobra Vipers and make little garrisons and such. I believe that this strange hobby of mine started with the Foot Soldier and I still love those guys. The love of Foot Soldiers also started my love of background characters. Be they blue shirted Cobra soldiers or faceless Stormtroopers, I love them all. To carry on the tradition of two Foot Soldiers, when the new versions were released I bought two, though I eventually ended up with three, and they rock!

The only figures I've got are John and George figures from the Yellow Submarine set. Unfortunately, John is from the first edition(cardboard backing to the package) and George is second edition(fully plastic packaging). It doesn't seem like that big of a deal until you realize that they switched the sidekick/accessories for the second edition, so if you want all of the available figures, you either purchase all from the same edition, or you have to purchase multiples of one if you mix the editions. They were both gifts, from different people, still in the packaging and displayed proudly
Also, I've got an out-of-package John on my desk at work, Yellow Submarine 1st edition. I don't know what happened to Jeremy(the Nowhere Man), who came with him, but my brother found the John figure in a box somewhere and mailed it back to me. It was also a gift when I got it, from a different person than gave me the two I still have in package.
Also, and these aren't action figures, I've got a Nightmare Before Christmas pencil holder, a beanie-baby(Ty brand and everything) Grim Reaper, and a good-luck Chinese dragon(looks like wood, but it may be resin).

I have never seen TMNT 3 so I'll be picking this set up next pay day. What they ought to do is package each turtle with a different dvd. Like this:
Leonardo: TMNT 1
Michaelangelo: TMNT 2
Raphael: TMNT 3
Donatello: The original cartoon mini-series.
There. That would be perfect. I would buy them all, and I bet a lot of other people would too. Kinda like when I picked up that box set for the new TMNT toon. It had DVDs volumes 1-4 (the first 12 episodes!) plus a four pack of mini-figures (about 2 inches each) all in one bitchin' package for about $30!
I really like getting toys with my DVDs. Other shows should follow suit. I'm a big Spider-Man fan, so when I bought "The 67' Collection" I was bummed there were no extras. However, if they would have packed in an exclusive 60's animated Spidey figure (painted like he looked on that show: Reddish-orange and pale blue and without the web pattern on his chest and arms), then I wouldn't have minded the lack of bonus features at all. In fact I think I'd rather have that figure than any half-assed featurette they could have came up with. Having said that, my dream DVD box set would be "Spider-Man and His Amazing Friends" packaged with a three pak of figures featuring Spidey, Iceman, and Firestar! Now I ask you...which of us here WOULDN'T buy that?!

I don't display many of my figures. The ones that I don't have laying all about are in boxes. I collect mostly Gi Joe a real American hero, old and the new, and Star Wars, mostly original trilogy. The only prequel trilogy Star Wars figures that I got were the red guards and clone troopers. I have just made a big addition to my collection. Not so much in the quantity of figures but it’s just a big step. You see, I have ordered a Tri-Clops and a Leech. These will be the first vintage He-Man figures that I own, and the feeling is just… is just great.

I'm not really clear about Curb, Muppet Baby. I hate to say it but this season just didn't do it for me. I didn't even see the last few episodes, I just let them sit on my dvr until I admitted I wasn't going to watch them. No Caller ID in this time period, no sir. Well, after a week of this, Doctor Don was seriously creeped out. One wee, and the calls stopped. So, I was able to refrain myself from turning into a drooling, slobbering mess when the cable guy came (who was thankfully neither Larry nor Jim Carrey)...but just barely. Now I have a shiny new Internet connection and The Fairly Oddparents are on the TV. I'm never leaving my apartment (except for work) again!!
In other news, I love what I've seen of Invader Zim; unfortunately, I haven't seen too much, but now that I have full control of a digital cable box I should be able to catch some eps on one of the other Nick stations. I'm a big fan of JTHM, even if I only read the collection a couple of months ago. Just my kind of twisted humor.
And I too was one of the few, the proud, the Pokemon fans. I watched it in high school and loved the games...I even bought the special Pokemon edition of the Game Boy Color, which I still have. If I could have followed the show, I'd still be watching it. Pikachu's that cute.

OMG I was a total Pokefreak around 97/98. Yes, I was in High School (sad but true) and watched Pokemon, religiously. In fact, I bought most of the first season on VHS tape. I collected the keychains (most of them from Japan off ebay), stuffed toys (my fav was the talking Pikachu with the light up cheeks and a giant plush n pillowy Dragonite, oh and Dratini! I loved my lil Dratini!)
I drew Pokemon, sent Pokemon Christmas cards (they had them at EB and Babbages, holographic even with Pikachu in a Santa hat), wore Pikachu shirts (still have that) and saved my money for weeks to buy a Gameboy Color for the impending release of Pokemon Blue.
Pokemon Snap, Pokemon Stadium, Pokemon this and Pokemon that... then one day...
I realized the series was not as good as it used to be. The show was still cute but was getting very repetitive. The games were repeating themselves too much and were not evolving as I had hoped. The Pokemon designs begin to get uglier and stranger and I started to lose interest. By the time Pokemon Silver came out my Pokecraze had peaked and after finishing the game and trying a few that came afterward and realizing it was just the same thing all over again... I just moved on.
Pikachu is still adorable and *if* they ever did a proper Pokemon RPG for the Gamecube (or revolution or DS) I would buy it... but... after seeing so many other anime I realize how quaint and simplistic it was.
But oh how I loved it at the time.

Ok, first off let me say this up front: I hate trendy/popular things. For example, when The West Wing was at the height of its popularity, I wouldn't watch it. Now it is one of my favorite shows. Needless to say, Pokemon is something I wouldn't go near. But I find myself curious, after all these years, as to what all the fuss was about. Should I go back and play one of the original Pokemon games? I just don't know.

I, too was a Pokemon fan back in the day. Hell, I was a fan before it was cool. (before it was even released in the US)
Like you guys, I had it all: the games (Red, Silver, both Stadiums, Pokemon Snap, Pinball, Pokemon Puzzle League, and "Hey You, Pikachu", which was the worst game ever), I had the original Pikachu tamagotchi-like thing, and was obessed with collecting the cards (I still have all of mine, and I have some pretty rare ones like the japanese Mew from the Fossil set that I pulled from a pack). I have a lot of the stuffed pokemon, especially Pikachu and Poliwhirl (yes, they made one of that).
But I think I can top you all: I have a pet snake named Pikachu. 7 1/2 years old and I got him about 2 weeks before the original Red/Blue games were released.
I can basically pinpoint the exact moment I was no longer into pokemon: It was early July of 2001, I was looking in a collectible shop on my vacation in Florida, and saw a promo card I didn't have. I tried to grab it and buy it, but something inside me said "It's just not worth it anymore." I really don't know if this was before or after Pokemon Gold/Silver came out, but that was at least the point I stopped collecting the cards, anyways.
Then I heard about Pokemon Crystal and then the Ruby/Sapphire/Emerald games, not to mention the rehashed Red/Green ones, then I said "screw it, It's just not worth it anymore."
I hope there's actually a SNT tonight...

Back when Pokemon first started airing on a local Fox station, I was a fan. Then it got popular. My nephew now has all of my Pokemon stuff. I was the same way with anime. Robotech got me hooked. Then it got popular and they started importing a lot more shows, shows that were meant for eight year olds in Japan but because of strong language and violence they got billed here in the U.S. as adult programming. Needless to say I never watch adult swim on Saturdays and the only anime that I watch are Robotech aka Super Dimensional Fortress Macross, and Akira. Not that watching anime is bad; I'm just not into it.

Though Robotech is a kids show in Japan and, thanks to crafty editing, here in the U.S.

8 hours 25 minutes till Steve Martin. I am so stoked, forgive me.

Edited from Maceoss:
quick nudity
lots of blood
Kept in Robotech:
heavy storylines
interracial (and interspecies) romance
blowing up of huge amounts of property
Despite the soap opera-ish tendencies, I cheered when Rick Hunter chose Lisa Hayes over that ditz Lyn Minmay.

I'm always on the ball. It sucked in school, though, because I was always getting shit on for liking anime and such. One time my best friend and I went to class freshman year in our RHPS t-shirts and some asshole actually told us that Rocky Horror is a stupid movie about lesbians. I think it disturbed everyone in my little town that I actually had a personality and my interests weren't limited to "hanging out and shopping."

Mystie- You sound bitter about this. Want to tell me about it?
Chestnuts roasted by Darth Poop @ 02/04/2006 04:33 PM EST
I'm bitter about a lot of things. High school, the job market, my stupid ex who even though says he wants to sell all his material possessions and move to a hippy commune had NO DAMN RIGHT SELLING OUR LUPIN III PACHINKO MACHINE BECAUSE I PAID FOR HALF OF IT!!!

But...RHPS is a stupid movie about lesbians...Don't get me wrong, there's more to it than that, and it's one of my favs, but I'd say the asshole had it pretty close.

Don't mess with me, squee. It's that time of the month.

I'll give you chocolate and TransFormers and a dumpy shoulder to lean on, Mystie. Then we all can watch Vampire Hunter D: Bloodlust. And Darth Poop and I can fight each other with those giant wooden spoon and fork decorations that some people hang up on the wall.
Rocky Horror is not a stupid movie about lesbians. It's a stupid movie that's fun to sing along with. Now With Bunnies!
Chestnuts roasted by kingklash @ 02/04/2006 05:20 PM EST
RHPS is actually a stupid movie about transexuals, transvestites, cross-dressers & gays of both genders.

Don't forget aliens.
Chestnuts roasted by Bludge @ 02/04/2006 06:28 PM EST
I've yet to see RHPS.

I had a stuffed Poliwhirl too.
And I had forgotten about the Pokemon Puzzle League Games, I had the GBC and N64 versions and played them TO DEATH I had forgotten about the Pikachu tamagotchi thing. It was really cool (or so I thought) even if it didn't do too much. I think Pikachu played a version of high/low and you could feed him right? It somehow hooked up with one of the Pokemon games to give you items but I don't remember ever trying that part out. I just thought it looked cool.

Just waiting here for the SNT.

I just read that Grandpa Munster actor Al Lewis died. CNN also screwed up his obituary by saying he was 83; he was actually 95. Here be his official website: http://www.pscelebrities.com/al.html

I was a total Pokemon freak before it was announced for America. I outgrew it before gold/silver came out though. I blame the repetitive cartoon and god-awful Pokemon Snap. My favorite Pokemon was Poliwhirl, but I never used one in the game. I freaking hate Jigglypuff for being so damned annoying in everything. If I ever set up shop on Ebay, first things to go will be my Pokemon merchandise which includes...
-Tons of loose, PVC figurines (a mix of US and Japanese releases)
-All the KFC promo plushes
-My Pokemon cards which consist of the Brushfire starter, and Nintendo Power promos of Mewtwo, E3 Pikachu and Sabrina's Abra. (should probably get rid of these while I can still get about $53 for the promos)

I love Jigglypuff! I will shove cucumbers were they don't belong RewolfJ!!

I kinda lost interest in Pokemon when they started switching Ash's friends around (Brock/Mystie rule, everyone else sucks) and giving us lame new Pokemon (I sorta cried when Charizard left, that was a great episode, along with the origin of Meowth). The first Pokemon movie was cool, the others sucked.
I liked Pokemon Pinball (of course, it's hard too screw up a pinball game) and the first series of Poke RPG's. Could never beat them though. Never quite understood the point of Pokemon Snap (Let's take pics of pokemon, Yawn.)
Allison, where have you disappeared to? We miss you here.
Can't wait for SNL. Watched Grizzley Man on Discovery Channel last night (it's on again tonite). GREAT Documentary and I can't believe it got the Oscar snub (especially with the overrated Murderball and Penguin movie, I haven't seen Aristocrats yet).
Can't wait to watch the Superbowl commercials tomorrow (could care less about football itself). That would make a great article.
