That's right - Playmobil's advent calendar isn't any ordinary advent calendar. With each passing day, you pull a box off the cardboard poster, open it up, and viola! A new toy! Of course, the 'toys' at times leave much to be desired. I never knew a 2" plastic fence could be construed as a toy, but hey, Playmobil's been in the business for a long time. They know what they're doing. To be honest, Toys R'Us was having a 2-for-1 sale on Playmobil toys. I saw those solemn plastic smiles staring up at me, and my heart grew three sizes. Sure, I'm fifteen bucks in the whole, but at least we get to celebrate the holidays together like a happy bunch of pink Christmas gerbils.
